We are still seeing crazy queues outside supermarkets, but there are some things that are returning to normal after supermarkets have optimised their supply chains and increased online capacity.
- Earlier today I was able to get slots on Waitrose.com for delivery in a week, which I haven’t been able to do in a long time!
- In the majority of supermaket stores shelves are now better stocked throughout the day
- None of the online supermarkets have queuing systems like a week ago
- Aldi and Morrisons have removed temporary buying restrictions across all products
- Waitrose has eased temporary buying restrictions. They have removed the majority of temporary buying restrictions, but left a three-item limit in place on pasta, rice, UHT milk, toilet rolls, antibacterial and cleaning products, and some frozen food
