Internally supermarkets use different words to describe when they think you have become a “loyal customer”. The Golden Shop is usually the 4th or 5th shop and supermarkets have found that on average you are more likely to stay shopping at their supermarket if you get to the 4th or 5th shop.
This pattern results in supermarkets offering Delivery Passes for no cost for 4 weeks or giving you a gift everytime you shop in the first 4 weeks e.g. a box of chocs
Our Advise
- Don’t make yourself feel locked into using one supermarket buy buying a Delivery Pass unless you are sure that you will only ever want to use that supermarket
- Always look around to see who is offering the best deals
- Find all the supermarkets that deliver to you and try them all. They may have changed since you last used them or they may be new.
